Ronald Reagan was a charming and unique person for he was different than other presidents. He was optimistic, had good communication skills, and had a good sense of folksy charm.

Reagan believed in people’s individual liberty and America’s Exceptionalism. During his life he accomplished many remarkable achievements, one of those being the Tax Cut of 1981, where he ended the largest tax cut in U.S. history. Another event was the Cold War where he left an impact by ending the war using a dual strategy of peaceful pressure and dialogue.

Some characteristics of his were that he was resilient and antifragile.

The person who influenced Ronald Reagan the most was his wife Nancy, who introduced family ideals, all contributing to his charisma, optimism, and conservative leadership.

Some of the obstacles he encountered along the way were the assassination attempt by John Hinckley Jr. and Cold War tensions forming around the world. He soon overcame the fact that people were rejecting him and his ideas, but he never gave up.

I admire Ronald Reagan because of the qualities he contributed as a leader and his way of de-escalating problems in the toughest of situations. He was a person that people could look up to in a time of need.

This inspires me to be a better person and to become a leader instead of a follower.
