7th grade was an emotional roller coaster.
Sometimes it was exciting and felt like a brand new experience; other times I went through unexpected sharp turns like friend group drama and academic challenges. For example, when I found out I got into Track, I felt limitless. It was such an amazing experience for me and I made so many new friends. On the other hand, when I had midterms, I felt a mood whiplash and had to stay up late to study. Even when I was tired at school, 6th period social studies made it all the better and my teacher was always so energetic and made me laugh. But I remember when it was 1 am and I forgot to turn in an assignment. It truly felt like a freefall. When I had my band midterm and felt like I flunked it, yet still stayed in the top band, it made me feel weightless. This goes to show that even though 7th grade had its downs, it still showed me that the drops aren’t as scary as they seem in the end.
